Indian-origin Swiss businessman Pankaj Oswal claimed that his daughter Vasundhara Oswal was imprisoned in Uganda. The industrialist claimed that his daughter was illegally imprisoned in Uganda over “corporate and political manipulation”.

According to Pankaj, the charges against her were ‘fabricated by a former employee who had stolen valuables and large amounts of money’.

Vasundhara, also the executive director of Pro Industries, was reportedly kept in inhumane conditions during her 90 hour custody.

“Not letting her be in touch with her family and lawyers and also snatching her phone from her, causing her to have an anxiety attack, which they did not acknowledge. This all while she is still being unlawfully detained with no evidence against her,” stated the industrialist in his Instagram post.

Oswal has filed an urgent appeal with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, stating that Vasundhara was interrogated under degrading conditions and held for over 90 hours without access to legal counsel or family.

In an earlier post, Vasundhara’s sister posted via her Instagram  saying that Vasundhara was “held in Uganda over fake charges and without any evidence of the crime she is being held hostage for, by the corrupt Ugandan police force.”

“This is all because of corporate jealousy from a 68-year-old-man who couldn’t take that she, a young 26-year-old-woman, became bigger than him in 3 years of her hard dedicated work, and wanted his competition to go down no matter what,” she added.
