An Indian-origin man, Sai Kumar Kurremula, 31, has been sentenced to 35 years (420 months) in federal prison in the United States for the sexual exploitation of minors and transporting child pornography, the US Attorney’s Office announced.

Kurremula, a resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, was arrested in 2023 following an FBI investigation into online child exploitation. Authorities found that he used Snapchat to pose as a teenager, deceiving at least 19 minors into sending him explicit content. When victims resisted, he threatened them to obtain more illicit material.

On April 22, 2024, he was charged with sexual exploitation of children and transportation of child pornography. Court documents revealed that Kurremula threatened victims with violence and public humiliation.

He pleaded guilty on June 18, 2024, admitting to exploiting three minors and knowingly transporting child pornography.

At the sentencing hearing on March 27, 2025, US District Judge Charles Goodwin handed Kurremula a 35-year prison term, followed by lifetime supervised release (aka lifetime probation).

US Attorney Robert J Troester called the sentence justified, warning that those who exploit children will face harsh penalties. FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent in Charge Doug Goodwater stated that Kurremula’s actions robbed children of their innocence and caused irreparable harm.
