An Indian-origin man, Sindeep Singh, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his mother, Bhajan Kaur, and attempting to bury her in their garden, as ruled by Leicester Crown Court.
According to reports, Singh was found guilty by Leicester Crown Court and sentenced to life in prison on Monday. Singh had been arrested for the murder of his mother on May 13, following a property dispute. His arrest came after a large hole was discovered dug in their garden on the property.
Kaur, Singh’s mother, had previously filed a complaint against him for harassment, leading to his arrest. He was later released. Singh had been living in his car for several days, and one day, when his mother allowed him to stay in her house, he killed her. The police found Kaur’s body with severe head and facial injuries.
The body was discovered by a relative of Kaur, and by the time it was found, Singh had already fled the scene.
After the discovery of the body, Singh was arrested by the police. Initially, he denied the charges and claimed he was unaware of his mother’s death. However, following a trial, he was convicted of murder and attempting to bury his mother in the garden.
On Monday, Sindeep Singh was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Bhajan Kaur.
