Indian-origin doctor killed in UAE plane crash
A 26-year-old Indian-origin doctor reportedly died in a light aircraft that crashed off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah.
Indian-origin doctor, Sulaymaan Al Majid was co-piloting the aircraft with a 26-year-old Pakistani woman who also died in the accident.
As per reports, Sulaymaan’s younger brother was scheduled to take the next flight.
Ahead of the new year, the crash occurred shortly after takeoff near the Cove Rotana Hotel on December 26.
Initial reports stated that the glider lost radio contact before attempting an emergency landing. Unfortunately, despite resuscitation efforts, both occupants succumbed to their injuries.
Who is Sulaymaan Al Majid?
Sulaymaan, born and raised in the UAE, had rented the plane for a sightseeing trip with his family. Reports state that his father, mother, and younger brother were at the aviation club to witness the flight.
He was a clinical fellow at the County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He co-chaired the Northern Junior Doctors Committee of the British Medical Association.
The authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
