Indians are not only at the forefront of travelling across the globe but also of buying properties abroad. According to a leaked report titled ‘Dubai Unlocked’ prepared by the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS), Indians have bought the most properties in Dubai between 2020 and 2022. Indians own a total of 35,000 properties worth ₹1.45 lakh cr in Dubai, with 29,700 Indian owners.

The data for this report was compiled by 74 media houses from 58 countries and displays data on properties owned by foreigners in Dubai from 2020 to 2022.

As per 2022 data, foreigners own a total of $160 bn (₹13.35 lakh cr) worth of property in Dubai.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has ₹2,000 cr worth of property in Dubai. While Lulu Group chairman MA Yusuff Ali and his family own ₹585 cr worth of property. Gautam Adani’s brother is also included on this list.

Film stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Shilpa Shetty also own properties worth crores in Dubai.

In this report, Pakistanis are second to Indians, with British nationals at third and Saudi Arabians at fourth.

As per the data, 17,000 Pakistanis own 23,000 properties worth ₹91,800 cr. Moreover, 19,500 British citizens own 22,000 residential properties in Dubai worth $10 bn. While 8,500 Saudi Arabian citizens own 16,000 properties worth $8.5 bn.
