The Indian embassy in USA reported the death of an Indian Embassy member passing away on September 18. The statement revealed that the incident took place on the Washington premises, and the investigation is on about the death of the official.

Indian embassy in USA, in a statement on September 19, said, "With deep regret, we wish to confirm that a member of the Embassy of India passed away in the evening of 18th September."

"We are in touch with all relevant agencies and members of the family to ensure the swift transfer of the mortal remains to India," said the statement from embassy.

The statement also read, "Additional details regarding the deceased are not being released out of concern for the family’s privacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of grief. We thank you for your understanding."

The mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of the Indian Embassy member in Washington DC, and the consulate not revealing the details of one of its officials passing away has fueled the rumours of controversies around the incident.
