With the increment in the monthly spending of the students, aspirants looking forward to studying and working in the UK will have to show 11% more funds in their possession from January 2025.

Visa aspirants are required to show a set number of funds before heading to the UK, proving that they can sustain themselves for a set amount of time in the country.

The British government decided to increase the fund limit to reduce the impact of immigration on housing and the economy, as per reports.

People applying for a skilled worker visa for the first time will have to show an annual income of GBP 38,700 (~₹41 lakh).

This includes accommodation, food, and house rent. In addition, a sponsorship letter from a UK-based company approved by the Home Office will have to be submitted.

If no company has sponsored the candidate, then the amount will have to be deposited in the account for 28 days before applying for the visa.

The application fees for several types of visas, including tourist, family, spouse, child and student visas, have also been increased.

However, people with certain special skills, including disabled people, caregivers, and health servants, will get relief from it.
