The British government will blacklist any agent who arranges fake documents for students from India to study in the UK and arranges for dummy candidates to take exams and send them to student visa aspirants, in case any false document is presented by the British government.

The acceptance letter of the student will have the name of their agent on the document, which wasn’t a norm earlier. From January 25, the name of the visa consultant agent will be featured on the letter.

The move comes after the suggestion of the Migration Advisory Committee.

A visa expert, Pankaj Patel, opined that the new decision will allow the authorities to blacklist the agent if they found any discrepancies in the student’s documents in future.

This comes after multiple cases of dummy candidates appearing for language proficiency tests, or forging the documents stating the medium of language a student has studied in India. Apart from that, forged certificates have also plagued the admission process to the university abroad.

With current rules, the universities do not have a way to take action against the agents. As per reports, the agents making false promises to students will also face action.
