UP awaits names of 25 BJP candidates, big names likely to be left behind
As BJP gears up for the release of their third list of candidates to be fielded in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Uttar Pradesh awaits to name 25 seats of the state.
In a high command meeting today, the candidature will be decided for Moradabad, Aligarh, Kanpur, Machhali Shahar, Ghazipur, Ballia, Bahraich, Bhadohi, Deoria, Mainpuri, Gonda, Kaushambi, Raebareli, Prayagraj, Kaiserganj, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hathras, Firozabad, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Sultanpur, Budaun, and Phulpur.
However, there is a possibility of some big names getting committed, suggest the media reports. Maneka Gandhi, Varun Gandhi, General VK Singh, Ramapati Ram Tripathi, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Sanghamitra Maurya, Satyadev Pachauri, and Santosh Gangwar are likely to miss out on the ticket this time, suggest the reports.
There has been no official word on the omission of these candidates.
BJP has also given away five seats to the alliances. Rashtriya Lok Dal was allotted Bijnor and Baghpat, whereas Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party has the Ghosi seat. The Apna Dal (S) has been given the seats of Mirzapur and Robertsganj.
