Sam Pitroda, Chairman of Indian Overseas Congress, has once again stoked controversy with his remarks.

Recently, during a discussion about illegal immigrants, Pitroda emphasised that we are focusing on the wrong issues. “We should be paying attention to the planet and global warming instead of concentrating on illegal immigrants,” he said.

He further stated, “These people are poor. They come here to work. Of course, they come illegally; we understand that. But they are poor, and we shouldn’t be focusing on Bangladeshi immigrants — that’s wrong.”

Pitroda added, “We should include everybody. It’s okay if we suffer a little bit; we can share. But nobody wants to share. People just want to keep their piece of the pie bigger and bigger.”

These remarks by the Congress leader on illegal immigrants have sparked widespread controversy in the media. With the Delhi elections approaching, the comments have raised questions and added tension in the capital.
