Result date of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections changes to June 2

A day after announcing the Lok Sabha election schedule, the Election Commission of India (ECI) released a note regarding the change of result dates for the assembly constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

The date of the poll in both states is Apr 19, 2024, in phase 1, and the date of the results in all states was scheduled for June 4, 2024.

However, as the term of house of both the Legislative Assemblies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim is due to expire on June 2, and the commission has decided to move the dates of the results of these two assemblies to June 2 from June 4.

102 constituencies are scheduled  in Phase 1 (Apr 19) including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

State assembly elections of four constituencies have been scheduled along with the general elections 2024 including Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
