Rajasthan School Van Crash: One Child Killed, Six Injured After Vehicle Rams Parked Truck In Banswara

A schoolchild was killed and at least six others were injured after their van rammed into a parked truck in Rajasthan’s Banswara on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred in the Thikariya area while the children were on their way to school.

The impact was so severe that the front portion of the school van was completely crushed, leaving several children trapped inside.

Locals rush to rescue trapped children

The children, residents of Janamedi, Bahubali Colony and the Housing Board area, were travelling to school when the van crashed into the stationary truck.

Hearing the children’s cries for help, villagers and passersby rushed to the accident site and pulled the trapped students out of the damaged vehicle. Police were also alerted immediately.

A team from Raja Talab police station reached the spot and, with the help of local residents, shifted the injured children to the District Hospital.

Child identified as Hayan Basaniya

The child who died in the accident has been identified as Hayan Basaniya, son of Dr Rajendra Basaniya and a resident of the Housing Board area.

Another child from the same family was also injured in the crash and is undergoing treatment.

Several injured students were admitted to the emergency ward, with the condition of some reported to be critical.

Seriously injured child referred to Udaipur

Among those seriously injured is Ranjan Nema, son of Rudra Nema and a resident of Housing Board colony.

As his condition worsened, doctors referred him to Udaipur for advanced treatment.

The arrival of several injured children at the District Hospital triggered scenes of panic as worried parents and relatives rushed to the facility after learning about the accident.

Doctors perform CPR on critically injured students

Doctors, nurses and emergency staff at the hospital swung into action as the injured children were brought in.

Medical teams performed CPR on some critically injured students, while others were given first aid and stabilised before further treatment began.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the school van crashing into the parked truck and whether negligence played a role.
