No candidate appearing for NEET retest scores full marks, toppers tally down to 61

None of the 813 out of 1,563 candidates who appeared for retest of NEET (UG) scored full marks (720/720), bringing the toppers tally down to 61 from 67.
Notably, the retest was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for 1,563 students who were awarded grace marks for the time lost during the examination on May 5.
However, following the SC order, a retest was conducted on June 23 in Chhatisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, and Meghalaya.
The students who did not appear for the retest will have their grace marks retracted and will be awarded the original score.
According to reports, six students from Haryana had achieved the maximum score of 720 in the earlier exam; however, this time, none of the students scored full marks.
The NEET 2024 results have been marred by controversies of grace marks and paper leak allegations. While many demanded a retest following the results and discrepancies with the results, there were also cases like Gujarat's Rajkot where candidates protested against the retest.
