NEET announces new rules and guidelines for UG 2025 exam
The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam will now be conducted with new rules and a revised schedule. This decision comes after the NEET controversy in 2024, which was marred with allegations of paper leaks and cheating incidents.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Thursday that NEET will be conducted in a pen-and-paper mode (OMR-based), in a single day and single shift.
NEET will continue to be the qualifying test for MBBS and related programs.
Notably, the NEET exam will now also be extended to BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS courses under the Indian System of Medicine.
Additionally, students seeking admission to medical, dental, Ayurveda, and homeopathy courses after Class 12 Science, registration for NEET is about to begin. As per the Ministry of Higher Education's instructions, the NTA has mandated that students must update their Aadhaar details with their Class 10th marksheet information before registering for NEET.
The NTA has instructed students to ensure that the name on their Aadhaar card matches the name on their Class 10th marksheet. If there are any discrepancies, students must update their Aadhaar details accordingly.
