Schedule for PG medical admission process announced

The National Medical Counselling Committee (NMC) has announced the entrance program for PG medical students. The first round of counselling for all India quota will be completed by November 20, and state quotas will be completed by November 27. The joining date for students has been set for December 4.
In Gujarat, 4,786 students have registered, of which 2,842 will be allotted seats.
Why was the entrance process delayed?
After the declaration of the PG NEET results on August 23, a controversy erupted. The delay was due to the mark sheets issued, which provided percentiles instead of actual marks. This led students to file a writ petition in the Supreme Court, requesting transparency in the results.
Due to the pending court hearing, the candidates were left waiting, and the entrance process was delayed. Notably, the All India Junior Doctors Association had also written to the central government urging them to begin the entrance process.
Actions taken after the case
Following the application and requests from students, the All India Entrance Committee has now announced the seat allocation for both the all India quota and state quota seats.
The academic semester is scheduled to commence on December 20.
Schedule for entrance program
The first round for all India quota seats is set to be completed by November 20, while the first round for state quota seats will be completed by November 27. The second round for all India quota seats will be completed by December 4, and for State Quota seats, it will be completed between December 12 and 23.
The third round for all India quota seats will be completed between December 26 and January 1, and for state quota seats, the third round will be completed between January 7 and 13.
