Lok Sabha elections: BJP releases 10th list with nine candidates in three states

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its tenth list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. One candidate has been fielded in Chandigarh, seven in Uttar Pradesh, and one in West Bengal.
Dropping the name of MP Kirron Kher from Chandigarh, the ruling party has fielded Sanjay Tandon in the shared capital city.
Sanjay Tandon is the former state president of Chandigarh and currently co-in charge of Himachal Pradesh.
SS Ahluwalia has been fielded against Shatrughan Sinha from Asansol in West Bengal.
UP contenders
Former prime minister Chandra Shekhar’s son, Neeraj Shekhar, has been fielded in UP’s Ballia.
Paras Nath Rai will be contesting elections in Ghazipur against Mukhtar Ansari’s brother and BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) candidate Afzal Ansari.
While Praveen Patel has been fielded in Phulpur, the name of advocate Neeraj Tripathi appeared for Allahabad (Prayagraj) instead of MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
BP Saroj has been given a ticket from Machhlishahr in UP, while Vinod Sonkar has been fielded in Kaushambi (SC).
The BJP’s Jaiveer Singh Thakur will contest against the Samajwadi Party's (SP) Dimple Yadav in the Mainpuri seat.
