Kissa kursi ka: Three-hour Amit Shah-MahaYuti meeting ends without results
Updated: Nov 29th, 2024
As the ‘meeting game’ continues, the suspense over Maharashtra chief minister prevails after a week of results.
A meeting regarding the name of the CM and the cabinet was held on Thursday at the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, but it seems that it did not yield anything.
The meeting was attended by BJP National President J P Nadda, Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, NCP chief Ajit Pawar, and other leaders of the MahaYuti.
According to reports, a discussion lasting nearly three hours took place among the leaders regarding the new CM of Maharashtra and the cabinet. Sources suggest that 21-22 MLAs from the BJP may be included in the Maharashtra cabinet.
After the meeting, the senior leaders of MahaYuti returned to Mumbai, where another meeting is expected to finalise the name of CM.
Caretaker CM Shinde, who took himself out of the contention, stated that the meeting with Shah was ‘positive’. He added that this was the first meeting, and the next meeting in Mumbai would decide the chief minister’s name, along with the deputies.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Shinde had hinted that the chief minister would likely be from the BJP, with only the official announcement pending.
