The court refused bail stating that they are still examining the evidence. Earlier, an Ahmedabad Court had also denied Turi’s bail application.
Turi faces serious charges under Section 66F(1)(B) of the IT Act, and Section 120(B) of the IPC.
Kalpesh Turi, who worked at SAC since 2012, was contacted by a Pakistani woman on Facebook. They became friends, and Turi later shared his email ID with her.
When it was found that Turi had leaked sensitive national security data with her, a complaint was filed against him.
The government opposed Turi’s bail, stressing that he worked in a crucial national security role. By sharing this sensitive information, Turi put the security of SAC and its officials at risk.
This action created a significant threat, as a Pakistani agent could have accessed important devices and data, observed the court.
