Delhi Police Debunks Protester’s ‘Death’ Rumours, Urges Public To Verify Facts

Delhi Police on Thursday urged people to verify information through official sources before sharing it on social media, amid the ongoing protests over the alleged NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar.

In an advisory posted on X, the police appealed to citizens to act responsibly online and avoid forwarding unverified information.

“Responsible digital behaviour begins with verifying facts through official channels before forwarding any content,” the advisory said.

Rumours Debunked

The advisory came after several social media posts falsely claimed that a woman protester, who was injured during the police action on Monday, had died.

Delhi Police clarified that the reports were false and confirmed that the woman is alive, receiving treatment at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital and is in stable condition.

“Reports circulating on social media claiming the death of a female protester at Jantar Mantar are entirely false and misleading,” the police said.

The police also urged people not to share unverified information and asked them to rely on official sources for updates.

Hospital Shares Update

Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital also issued a medical bulletin on the woman’s condition.

According to the hospital, the 21-year-old woman has shown significant improvement. She was taken off the ventilator 24 hours earlier and is now breathing on her own.

The hospital said she is conscious, responding to commands and remains in stable condition. However, she continues to receive treatment under the supervision of a multidisciplinary medical team.
