Bihar teen death

In a bizarre medical lapse in Bihar, a teen operated on by an unqualified practitioner reportedly died after the surgery was performed on him through YouTube videos.

Saran resident Krishna Kumar was admitted to Ganpati Seva Sadan Hospital after experiencing severe vomiting and was duly treated for the issue, according to reports.

However, the family stated that an unqualified doctor, Ajit Kumar Puri, recommended further treatment for the 15-year-old and operated on him.

The family reportedly alleged that Puri conducted gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) without their consent, and the boy’s condition worsened thereafter.

Puri is also alleged to have resorted to taking help from YouTube videos to conduct the surgery, say reports.

Medical staff from the hospital, including Puri, reportedly rushed Krishna to a hospital in Patna, but he couldn’t make it there and died on the way.

The family also alleged that the doctor and staff fled the scene, abandoning the boy’s body.

Police have registered an FIR and are on the lookout for the accused.
