Air India cancels around 60 India-US flights during upcoming peak season
Updated: Nov 1st, 2024
Tata group-owned Air India has announced the cancellation of 60 flights between India and the United States for the upcoming peak travel season, according to reports.
The affected flights, which include routes to cities like San Francisco, Chicago, Newark, Washington, and New York, will be cancelled between November 15 and December 31.
The affected routes reportedly include 14 flights on the Delhi-Chicago route, 28 flights on the Delhi-Washington route, 12 flights on the Delhi-San Francisco route, 4 flights on the Mumbai-New York route, and 2 flights on the Delhi-Newark route.
The airline attributed the disruption to delays in the return of some aircraft from heavy maintenance and ongoing supply chain challenges, suggested reports.
In response, Air India has contacted affected passengers to offer alternate options, including rebooking on flights scheduled for the same or nearby dates, and even refunds.
