Jamnagar School Principal Accused of Slapping Student, Child Taken to Hospital

A Class 6 student of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation's School No. 19 was allegedly slapped twice by the school principal, after which the child complained of ear pain and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. The incident has raised concern among parents and members of the local community.

According to the student's family, the incident took place on July 29 when the regular teacher was absent, and Principal Rambhai Solanki was teaching the class. The student, identified as Dhruv Praveenbhai Pandavdara, reportedly sought the permission to leave for the toilet. After trying three times without getting a reply, the child lightly touched the principal's knee to get his attention. The principal allegedly became angry and slapped the student twice on the ear.

Child Taken to Hospital, Family Seeks Action

The student did not tell his parents about the incident on the same day because he was frightened. However, he was unable to sleep during the night and later complained of severe ear pain the next morning. His father, along with members of their community, took him to a hospital where doctors provided treatment. The family has demanded that the authorities investigate the matter and take appropriate action if the allegations are found to be true.

Local authorities attempted to contact the Chairman of the Education Committee and the Administrative Officer of the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation to get their response regarding the incident. They also tried to contact the Education Committee Chairman and the Administrative Officer for their response, but both officials did not answer their phone calls.

A Similar incident reportedly took place at Chanakya School in Ahmedabad's Nikol, where a student suffered from ruptured eardrum after allegedly slapped by a teacher.
