Suleman Dawood, 19, one of the five passengers declared dead in the expedition to the Titanic shipwreck, reportedly took Rubik's Cube with him, according to his mother.
Suleman was onboard with his father, Pakistani billionaire Shahzada Dawood, who also died, along with three others after the ‘Titan’ submersible imploded in the Atlantic Ocean.
Shahzada Dawood took a camera to capture the moment
Suleman's mother revealed to a media house that her son had entered the 'Guinness World Records' to break the record for solving the Rubik's Cube 12,000 ft underwater. Reportedly, Shahzada Dawood, also carried a camera with him to capture the moment his son breaks the world record.
Suleman's mother, Christine Dawood, was on Polar Prince, the submersible's support vessel, with her daughter when she received the tragic news of the missing Titan on June 18.
She told about the son's fondness for Rubik's cube to the media house and said that she and her daughter would learn to solve the Rubik's Cube to honour Suleman and would also continue to do her husband's work.
Christine's voyage trip got cancelled
Christine further mentioned her prior plans of joining the voyage but her trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. Later she stepped back and let Suleman continue because he really wanted to go.
The others who were killed on the Titan submersible were Stockton Rush, the 61-year-old CEO of OceanGate that ‘Titan’ belonged to, and Titan's pilot, British businessman Hamish Harding, 58, and French explorer Paul-Henry Nargeolet, 77.
The expedition to the Titan submersible turned into a tragedy after parts of the submersible were found on June 22 and it was declared that there was a “catastrophic implosion”.
