Updated: Sep 1st, 2024
In exchange for North Korea’s help to Russia during the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Russian President Vladimir Putin has gifted 24 purebred horses to North Korea’s Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un, reported the media.
The purebred horses include 19 stallions and 5 mares of Orlov Trotter breed, which is believed to be North Korean leader’s favourite, according to reports.
President Putin has showered these gifts on Kim over North Korea’s artillery shells used in the Ukraine war, suggested the reports.
Solidifying the collaboration
Earlier, In July, Russia’s Prosecutor General visited North Korea for the first time ever.
Igor Krasnov arrived in Pyongyang and met his North Korean counterpart to discuss bilateral cooperation with other officials during his visit, his office said in a statement.
Moscow believed that Krasnov’s visit also highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and mutual understanding between Russia and North Korea in legal and prosecutorial matters.
Before that, Putin visited Pyongyang - his first trip to North Korea in 24 years - at the invitation of Kim Jong-un.
