₹1.23 Lakh iPhone Stolen From Retired Man’s Pocket While Praying at Lal Darwaja Temple

A 69-year-old retired man allegedly lost his ₹1.23 lakh iPhone after an unidentified person stole it from his trouser pocket at a crowded temple in Ahmedabad.

Phone Stolen During Prayers

Ajaykumar Ashokbhai Jardosh, a resident of Ellisbridge, visited Bahuchar Mataji Temple in the Lal Darwaja area around 11.30 am on August 16.

Jardosh had purchased an iPhone 17 Pro Max worth ₹1.23 lakh for personal use. He kept the phone in his trouser pocket before entering the temple.

While he was offering prayers, an unidentified person allegedly took advantage of the crowd and stole the phone from his pocket.

Theft Discovered After Leaving Temple

Jardosh realised the phone was missing after completing his prayers and stepping outside the temple.

He searched the surrounding area and checked with relatives but was unable to locate the device. He later approached Karanj Police and lodged a complaint against an unidentified person.

Police registered a theft case using the phone's identification and IMEI details.

CCTV Footage Under Scanner

Karanj Police are examining CCTV footage from the temple and nearby areas in an attempt to identify the suspected thief.

Investigators are also working to trace the stolen iPhone using its IMEI number and other available details.
