Russian cardiologist Dr Dmitry Yaranov has highlighted several overlooked lifestyle factors that may be quietly damaging people’s heart health even among those who believe they’re living healthy.

According to Dr Yaranov, the modern lifestyle is creating hidden cardiovascular strain through chronic sleep loss, constant stress and persistent exposure to air pollution.

Doctor highlights the causes:

- Chronic lack of sleep

Sleeping 6 hours a night drastically raises risk of heart failure, stroke and even sudden cardiac death.

- Constant exposure to air pollution

Traffic fumes and toxic air gradually harden arteries over time.

- Stress overload / cortisol spike

Living in constant stress causes high blood pressure, inflammation and long-term cardiac damage.

- Poor dental hygiene

Gum disease leads to more inflammation in the body increasing the risk of heart attacks.

- Living in a food desert

Even with willpower, lack of access to healthy food contributes to poor heart outcomes.

- Ignoring gut health

Your microbiome plays a crucial role in blood pressure and cholesterol regulation.

Dr Yaranov says the danger is that most people think heart disease comes only from a bad diet or no exercise but the hidden factors are often more damaging.

The doctor suggests that the root causes should be fixed like sleep, stress, air, access, oral hygiene and gut health instead of obsessing only over diet charts and gym routines.
