Youth uploads reel of speeding 118 kmph car before accident kills 1, injures 2 in Rajkot

A 20-year-old youth was killed, while two others were seriously injured after a speeding car overturned following a collision with a divider near Pedhla Chokdi on the Rajkot–Porbandar highway close to Jetpur.

As per available information, the car was travelling from Jetpur to Dhoraji at high speed when the driver reportedly lost control near Balakrishna Farm. The vehicle first rammed into a divider and then crashed into a farm wall before overturning. The impact was so severe that the car was badly mangled, with its tyre thrown several metres away on the road.

Three friends were travelling in the car at the time of the accident. Avadh Tiwari, 20, suffered critical injuries and died on the spot, while Devaraj Gosai, 20, and Akshay Vaghela, 20, sustained serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

In a shocking detail that emerged later, the youths had uploaded an Instagram story moments before the crash showing the car speeding at 118 kmph. The attempt to showcase speed on social media allegedly ended in tragedy for the young occupant.

After receiving information about the incident, a team from Jetpur Udyognagar Police Station reached the spot and began an investigation. Police said the accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

During the probe, police also found that the deceased, Avadh Tiwari, had previously been booked in serious cases including offences under PASA, assault and kidnapping.
