As the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) prepares to contest the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, two of their candidates from Gujarat, Ranjan Bhatt from Vadodara and Bhikhaji Thakor from Sabarkantha seats, have withdrawn their candidature.

With this, the party is now again on the lookout for new candidates for these seats.

After Bhatt’s withdrawal, several faces have emerged that can replace the two-time MP in Vadodara.

BJP’s candidates in line for Vadodara Lok Sabha seat:

• Gargi Dave

• Pinky Soni (mayor)

• Dr. Vijay Shah (city BJP president)

• Rajendra Trivedi (former minister)

• Balkrishna Shukla (whip)

• Jaya Thakkar (former MP)

• Dr Jyoti Pandya (former mayor)

• Dr Sheetal Mistry (chairman of the standing committee)

• Hena Lakhawala

• Suresh Patel

• Shabdsharan Brahmbhatt

• Ketan Inamdar

Amidst this candidate hunt, Savli MLA Ketan Inamdar is reported to have departed for Delhi. However, no official reason has been given for his visit.

It is noteworthy that Inamdar resigned from his post as MLA recently. However, after meeting state BJP chief CR Paatil, he withdrew his resignation.

Dr Jyoti Pandya, suspended from the party over opposing Bhatt’s candidature, is also looked at as the probable candidate.

A replacement for this key seat of the saffron party is speculated to be announced in the coming days.
