As the craze of moving abroad has gripped Gujarat, students often fall for unlawful ways to settle in the foreign land.
Talking about the implications of admissions in the US, Mike Hankey, US consul general emphasises considering opportunities in India before moving abroad.
“After the merit-list evaluation, students who get admission to top universities and have authentic documents—only the genuine students get to enter the US,” said Hankey.
To avoid last-minute haste and heartbreak, the students should get accurate information about colleges, visa processes, scholarships, disciplines, papers, and procedures from the ‘Education USA’ office, which is available online and also located in cities including Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Consider studying in India before abroad
In response to some questions in an interview, Hankey said, “Now that India also has career opportunities with world-class education and a top salary, everyone should consider making a career in India instead of running abroad.”
“We certainly welcome talent in the US, but you should also have patience for the job as per your qualifications,” he added.
Answering the current socio-political situation of the world and the moral responsibility of powerful countries, Hankey said, “It is a mistake for a powerful country to believe that an event happening several kilometres away will not affect it.”
He emphasised that in the contemporary world, from security to agriculture, pharmaceutical, medical, education infrastructure, environment, etc., there is a need to strengthen a supply chain to make sure that no country suffers from a lack of anything.
