Two of the four Gujarati men who were reportedly held hostage in Iran have been brought back to Gandhinagar by the Local Crime Branch (LCB) as part of an ongoing investigation into the case.

According to officials, the two men identified as Anil Chaudhary and Nikhil Chaudhary were rescued from Iran and have been brought to the Gandhinagar LCB office for questioning and verification of their statements. The LCB has begun a detailed inquiry to ascertain how the men reached Iran, under what circumstances they were taken captive, and who was responsible for sending them abroad.

At present, Mansa MLA J S Patel and former MLA Amit Chaudhary were also present at the LCB office when the investigation began.

Police sources said efforts are underway to bring back the remaining two Gujarati nationals who are still in Iran, while central agencies are coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs for their safe return.
