Two killed, two injured as car splits in half in Rajkot

Two people were killed and two others seriously injured after a car crashed into a divider on a railway bridge at Jetalsar Junction in Jetpur, Rajkot, early on Saturday morning.
According to police, the impact was so severe that the vehicle was split into two parts.
The victims were returning from a Maha Shivratri fair in Junagadh, where thousands of devotees had gathered for celebrations and darshan. The victims, identified as Muskan Bagda and Arun Wala, died at the scene.
Two others, Amit Parmar and Jaideep Chauhan, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital for urgent treatment.
Preliminary information suggests that the driver lost control of the vehicle, which rammed into the central divider on the bridge with considerable force, causing the car to break apart.
The crash led to heavy traffic congestion in the area for some time. Police reached the spot shortly after being alerted, cleared the road and sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination.
Further investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
