Toddler who fell into borewell in Amreli loses battle with life after 17 hours

In a tragic turn of events, a one-and-a-half-year-old toddler in Amreli’s Suragpur, named Arohi, was declared dead after a 17-hour-long rescue effort.
Arohi, belonging to a farm labourer’s family, fell into an open borewell on June 14 while she was playing near her residence.
The locals had informed the 108 emergency services about the incident, and the responding team supplied oxygen in the borewell.
Arohi was stuck in the borewell about 45 to 50 feet deep, and the rescue operation that ran for over 17 hours brought her out, but she was declared dead.
The 108 fire department and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) worked together to bring the toddler out. Still, to everyone’s mourning, the mortal body of her was pulled out by the rescue team.
