The state government has provided benefits to a total of 4.45 lakh employees and 4.63 lakh pensioners in government and panchayat services.
As decided by the government, the difference in the dearness allowance for 8 months, from July 1, 2023, to February 2024, will be paid in three instalments along with the salary.
Accordingly, the difference amount from July 2023 to September 2023 will be paid with the Mar 2024 salary, the arrears amount from October to December 2023 with the April 2024 salary, and the January and February 2024 arrears with the May 2024 salary.
Under the National Pension Scheme (NPS), employees will contribute 10% to the NPS, and the state government will contribute 14%.
Moreover, the cash conversion payment of 10 earned leaves for LTC (leave travel concession) to employees was previously made according to the pay scale of the sixth pay commission and will now be paid according to the seventh pay commission.
Notably, the NPS is a retirement savings scheme for government employees. They will now contribute 10% while the state government contributes 14%, aiming to provide financial security after retirement.
