Dakor hosts Holi Mela (Dakor Falgun Purnima fair) every year, which attracts an outpour of devotees across the state.

To ensure security during the celebrations, a strong police force has been deployed. Unfortunately, amidst the crowd of pilgrims, a State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawan suffered a heart attack and died today.

This morning, at around 8:30 a.m, 40-year-old Ramji Parmar (a native of Disa), suddenly experienced chest pain.

His colleagues immediately arranged for an ambulance to rush him to the government hospital in Dakor, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The official X handle of the director general of police (DGP) of Gujarat posted, “Deeply saddened by the unfortunate and untimely demise of SRP constable Ramjibhai Shankarbhai Parmar while performing active duty. Condolences on behalf of the entire Gujarat police parivaar. Om Shanti.”
