Savli MLA Inamdar takes a U-turn, pulls back resignation

Updated: Mar 19th, 2024

After his meeting with BJP state president CR Patil in Gandhinagar, Savali MLA of BJP, Ketan Inamdar has pulled back his resignation, according to media reports.

“I presented my grievances to CR Patil and told him what I had on my mind. It was a positive discussion. It was a matter of respect for the old workers. Everyone has a different way of working. My method is different.” said Inamdar.

“It wasn’t personal. My demand was that the farmers in my area should get water. I will not contest the 2027 elections.” He concluded.

Earlier in the day, Inamdar had sent his resignation to Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, which was not accepted.

Inamdar was called to Gandhinagar for a meeting with the party's state president, who had earlier said that "No MLA will decide who is recruited in the party and who is not. That is for the party to decide, and only the rules of the party will be followed."

Reportedly, Inamdar was not happy with the recruitment spree in the BJP, with the party witnessing a flood of opposition leaders joining before the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in 2024.

Apart from Inamdar, 14 villages of Savali taluka; the president, vice president, and executive in charge of Savli Taluka Panchayat had also resigned.
