Sardardham case: No weapon used by Junagadh PI in alleged attack on Sardhara leader

The investigation into the Sardardham case has taken a curious turn with CCTV footage revealing that no pistol-like weapon was used. Jayanti Sardhara, vice president of Sardardham, had alleged that Junagadh PI Sanjay Padaria had attacked him with a pistol-like weapon.
The police also took statements of witnesses present at the scene and found no evidence of such a weapon.
According to sources close to the investigation, the CCTV footage and witness statements indicate that no weapon resembling a pistol was involved.
Initially, the police had registered an attempt to murder case following Sardhara’s statement, but based on the lack of evidence, the charge of attempted murder are likely to be dropped from the case.
On the other hand, with Sardhara having sustained a fracture, the police have begun further investigations to add details in the complaint.
Notably, two days have passed since the incident, but PI Padaria is yet to be arrested.
The CCTV footage of the incident showed an altercation between Sardhara and PI Padaria. In the footage, Sardhara is reportedly seen grabbing the PI’s wrist and slapping him.
Based on this footage, there are indications that Sardhara's troubles may also increase. If the PI files a complaint against Sardhara, the police will take action accordingly, the sources said. The exact details can only be revealed after PI Padaria is arrested.
Sardhara had alleged that he was attacked on Monday night while he was attending the wedding of his friend’s son in Rajkot.
Sardhara claimed in his complaint that the attack was carried out at the behest of Naresh Patel of Khodaldham. However, the Khodaldham Trust has denied these allegations.
The incident took place at the Shyamal Party Plot on Kankot-Mavdi Road where the PI called Sardhara a traitor of the community.
