On Monday night, Jayanti Sardhara, the vice president of Sardardham Saurashtra, was allegedly attacked by Police Inspector Sanjay Padaria, posted at the Junagadh SRP camp. Sardhara was attending the wedding of his friend’s son in Rajkot when the incident happened.

Sardhara claims in his complaint that the attack has been carried out at the behest of Naresh Patel of Khodaldham. However, the Khodaldham Trust has denied these allegations.

The incident took place at the Shyamal Party Plot on Kankot-Mavdi Road. In his complaint, Sardhara stated that he was talking to other leaders and friends around 8.30 pm when an unknown person approached him.

The person introduced himself as Sanjay Padaria, a PI posted at the Junagadh SRP region, and called Sardhara a traitor of the community. He then tried to attack him with a weapon, but others present at the scene intervened and stopped the fight.

Padaria then allegedly threatened Sardhara, saying that he was part of Naresh Patel’s group and that Sardhara was betraying the community by becoming the vice president of Sardar Dham.

Later, Sardhara went to the parking lot to leave when Padaria blocked his car and asked him to come out. When he stepped out, the PI attacked him on the head with a pistol-like weapon; Sardhara sustained injuries on his head and started bleeding.

Upon learning about the incident, Naresh Patel, who is currently abroad, expressed his concern and called the incident unfortunate. He said that such an incident should not have happened.

The investigation into the case has been handed over to ACP Chaudhary, who is verifying the CCTV footage and other evidence to gather more information about the incident.
