In the ongoing Income Tax department (I-T) raid at the offices and residences of Dilip Ladani of the Orbit Group, a well-known builder in Orbit Group, unaccounted transactions worth ₹250 cr were found.

Ladani, vice president of the Rajkot Builders Association (RBA), is known for his high-rise edifices, including Orbit Garden, Orbit Sky Garden, and Orbit Galaxy in Rajkot.

Under the supervision of Rajkot I-T department investigation wing director Meena and assistant director Aadesh Tiwari, a team of I-T officials deployed in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Mehsana raided the builder’s offices, residences, and other associated properties on Feb 27.

As per sources, materials, including account details, computerised data, etc., were seized during the raid at more than 40 locations.

On the second day of the raid, unaccounted economic transactions and funds were found in his offices and other associated offices. The investigation of jewellery, bank lockers, and cash is still underway.

Along with Ladani’s Orbit Group, the offices of Vinesh Patel, Mayur Radadiya, and Nilesh Jagani were also on the radar of I-T officials.

However, the I-T department will take two to three days to complete the investigation and collect details of the Orbit Sky Garden and Orbit Galaxy Garden projects before revealing the details of the tax evasion.

The department will further investigate the payment of the builder group’s land in different areas. The search for details about his business investors and customers is underway.
