In a major income tax (I-T) department raid around a stretch between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, a team of 100 officials raided 27 locations in the wee hours of this morning (Feb 9).

The raids have been carried out at the residences and offices of Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad’s well-known builder groups, where a huge amount of money was seized.

Areas including PDPU Road, Bhat Circle, Sargasan, and other areas between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad were raided by the teams of the I-T department.

Offices near Koba’s BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskar Dham in Gandhinagar were also raided this morning in an alleged huge payment of residence scheme to PSY Group.

The raids are still ongoing at the properties of PSY Group and the other three-four groups associated with it.

One of the oldest builders in the capital city, PSY Group, which has been operating since 1990, landed on the radar of the I-T department due to dubious progress, unknown transactions, and problematic land purchases.

Notably, Nilay Desai of PSY Group has ample projects in and around the boundaries of Gandhinagar, including residential buildings (Pramukh Homes, Pramukh Exotica, Pramukh Harmony) and offices (Pramukh Corporate, etc.).

The I-T teams of officials are conducting the raid and seizing hard discs and mobile data.

Notably, in November last year, the income tax department of Ahmedabad conducted raids on three builders in the Science City Road area of the city.
