In Gujarat, unidentified thieves stole 120 to 125 kilograms of silver worth over ₹1 crore from a house in Champak Nagar area of Rajkot in the early hours of Monday, police said.

The theft took place between 2 am and 2.30 am, when the suspects allegedly arrived in a four-wheeler and targeted the house of a man identified as Bipinbhai, an acquaintance of a silver trader, Atulbhai Patel.

Taking advantage of the darkness, the thieves entered the house and fled with a large quantity of silver jewellery.

After the incident came to light, Bipinbhai informed the trader, Patel, who subsequently informed a local MLA and lodged a complaint with the police.

According to the officials, CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to trace the movement of the suspects and identify the vehicle used in the crime.
