Policeman involved in reckless driving leaves three injured in Ahmedabad

A cop in Ahmedabad has been accused of reckless and negligent driving, resulting in injuries to three individuals and causing damage to multiple vehicles.

According to an official report, the incident occurred when the policeman Yuvraj Singh Jorawar Singh, posted at Mahupura police station was in possession of a four-wheeler, allegedly drove in a dangerous manner while leaving the Central Jail premises. His reckless driving led to a collision with an Activa scooter causing severe facial injuries to the rider, identified as Sanjaybhai.

The four-wheeler then struck another motorcycle, resulting in the rider, Farishree, sustaining injuries to head and legs. A woman, Mumtaz Rafiqbhai Sheikh, who was standing on the roadside at the time, also suffered minor injuries due to the incident.

Eyewitnesses reported that the officer abandoned his vehicle at the scene and fled. The police have registered a case against officer Singh for reckless and negligent driving, causing injuries to others, and fleeing the scene of the accident. An investigation is underway to ascertain further details and ensure accountability in the matter.
