Depression

A Saurashtra-based student pursuing an Ayurveda course in Vadodara was saved by the detection of crime branch (DCB) police as she was about to commit suicide in Ahmedabad.

Daughter of a diamond polisher, she felt her dream of becoming a doctor was dimming due to her father’s financial condition, according to reports. Following this, around five days ago, she left their house with a suicide message for her parents. Thereafter, she stopped receiving their calls.

The DCB police were informed regarding this incident, and they traced the girl’s location to be in Ahmedabad based on her phone.

She was then contacted and counselled by the police department.

They also established that the girl’s relatives, her uncle and aunt, lived in Ahmedabad. Subsequently, they were contacted, provided with the girl’s location, and arranged to meet her.

The relatives then convinced the girl and brought her to their house, evading any harm to her life.
