PM Modi’s Gujarat visit: State police on high alert, all leaves cancelled till Jan 12

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to various cities and districts of Gujarat between January 10 and 15, the state police thas been placed on full alert to ensure there are no lapses in security arrangements.
As per orders issued by the Director General of Police (DGP), all kinds of leave for police officers and personnel across Gujarat have been cancelled from January 7 to January 12, 2026. The directive has been issued in view of the Prime Minister’s scheduled programmes at multiple locations in the state.
According to the official notification, no police personnel will be granted leave during this period except under unavoidable circumstances. Officers and staff currently on leave have also been instructed to report back to duty immediately, keeping in mind the security deployment required for the Prime Minister’s visit.

Sources said the PM is expected to attend programmes in cities such as Somnath, Rajkot, and Ahmedabad, prompting heightened security across the state. With multiple high-profile events lined up, the entire Gujarat police force will remain on active duty and in a state of readiness throughout the period.
