Panic after bomb threat to blow up Gandhinagar Assembly, 9 am session adjourned

A sensation has spread after a bomb threat was received targeting the Gujarat Legislative Assembly complex. An anonymous email claimed that bombs had been planted at the Assembly as well as several other important locations across the state. With the sacred festival of Chaitra Navratri set to begin tomorrow, the threat has triggered a major security alert among agencies.
The Assembly session scheduled for 9 am today was immediately adjourned following the threat. Before proceedings could begin, all MLAs and staff were safely evacuated and the entire complex was cleared. As the Assembly session is currently underway, this decision was taken keeping in mind the security of the Chief Minister and the cabinet.
Police, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), bomb disposal squad, and dog squad teams rushed to the spot and have cordoned off the entire complex, launching an intensive search operation. Cybercrime teams are investigating the origin of the email and who may be behind it. A high alert has been declared across Gandhinagar.
