OTP misused to enrol patient in BJP at Visnagar Civil Hospital, triggers row

BJP’s membership drive

A major scandal has surfaced at the civil hospital in Mehsana’s Visnagar, where an unethical tactic to enrol a patient as a BJP member without their knowledge was uncovered today.

The incident occurred when Vikumbh Darbar visited the civil hospital with his wife, who required an injection jab. While at the hospital, an employee approached him and asked, “Do you need an injection?” Darbar confirmed, and the employee then asked for an OTP (one-time password), claiming it was necessary for the procedure.

Unaware of the intention, Darbar’s wife provided the OTP. But soon after, Darbar received a message on his phone informing him that he had been enrolled as a BJP member.

Shocked and furious, he realised that the OTP had been misused and the membership had been activated without his consent.

Furious over being tricked, Darbar confronted the employee, creating a scene at the hospital. The employee tried to downplay the situation, claiming it was a mistake.

Darbar, in full view of the hospital’s Resident Medical Officer (RMO), confronted the employee, demanding answers from the staff.

The employee first denied any wrongdoing, claiming, “We don’t force anyone to give their OTP.” However, as the dispute escalated, the staff member eventually confessed to the blunder and apologised.

A video capturing the whole scene quickly went viral, further fuelling the controversy.

In response, Visnagar Civil Hospital Superintendent Parul Patel claimed that no formal complaint had been received regarding the incident.

It was eventually discovered that the employee who requested the OTP was a temporary staff member hired by Neeraj Agency, and he has since left the hospital amidst the uproar.

Patel assured that the agency responsible would be questioned and further action would be taken.

This debacle comes amid rising complaints of BJP members using sneaky tactics to meet their membership drive targets.
