In the ongoing membership drive by the BJP, the party is facing challenges in registering new members, with widespread complaints emerging about party workers, officials, and leaders.

A video that has gone viral on social media features a BJP councilor from Bhavnagar, offering ₹500 to anyone who brings in 100 new members.

The video shows the BJP councilor, identified as Yuvrajsinh Gohil, addressing both men and women at a public office building, offering them money in exchange for bringing in new party members. 

In the 2.26-minute clip, Gohil instructs attendees to recruit their relatives and neighbors, explicitly stating, ‘Bring 100 members and take ₹500.’ The video, reportedly filmed in a government office, has become a point of discussion for both people outside and inside the party.

In a telephone conversation, Yuvrajsinh Gohil Bhavnagar Municipality official, acknowledged that the video features him, but was taken by someone else.
