The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids across 19 locations in a total of five states across the country on Thursday to sabotage the network of the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.
One of the locations where NIA conducted raids was Anand’s Chekhla village, where the agency nabbed Adil Vepari, an operative of the terrorist organisation who was working at a local madrasa.
Authorities are investigating to ascertain his suspected ties with the terrorists.
Top officials suggest that this operation is part of the agency’s efforts to dismantle the terror network and intercept their financial and logistical system.
Other locations where the agency conducted raids under this operation include
Jammu-Kashmir, Assam, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
Notably, Jaish-e-Mohammed has been actively recruiting youngsters from various pockets of the country.
The NIA team has been intercepting several such networks in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi, Badgam, and Anantanag.
Authorities acted against the operatives and their locations uncovered in this operation.
