NEET-UG exam case: CBI arrests exam centre trustee in Godhra

Followed by the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) search at several locations in Gujarat, including Anand, Kheda, and Ahmedabad; Dixit Patel, trustee of Jay Jalaram School in Godhra, was arrested after a search operation at his residence in Vidyanagar on June 30.

Moreover, four other suspects were detained for questioning. 

The CBI team will also conduct raids on the residences and offices of the suspects today to check the financial transactions.

In connection with a scam in the NEET examination, a CBI team raided Ketki Patel's residence who is the principal of the primary section of Jay Jalaram School in Godhra. 

Patel was also called to the Circuit House in Godhra for questioning.

The four others detained for questioning involved Tushar Bhatt, Aarif Vora, Purushottam Sharma (a former employee of Jay Jalaram School’s higher education department) and Vibhor Anand.

A total of 16 students were revealed to have been involved in the scam.

Earlier, Patel was apprehended in Godhra, and was interrogated at the Godhra Circuit House. 

Earlier in May 2024, Bhatt, and two others were detained by the district collector and district education officer (DEO) for interrogation over alleged extortion of money from students to clear NEET exams.
