Nadiad Junction railway station to undergo ₹500 cr revamp

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the union minister of state for communications, Devusinh Chauhan, on Mar 11 at the Sansad Seva Kendra in Nadiad to discuss the renovation of the Nadiad Junction railway station at a cost of ₹500 cr.

A blueprint for the new construction was presented by the architect-engineer. Over which the officials made necessary suggestions.

Speaking about this meeting, the union minister said, “Nadiad is going to become a metropolitan city in the coming time. It is an important city in Kheda district, so the central government has approved this project.”

A design depicting the freedom struggle events associated with the city and the Santram Mandir, established by Bhagatji Maharaj, will also find a place in the station’s design.

In addition, a railway overbridge will also be built at a cost of ₹80 cr to connect the divided east-west areas on both sides of the station.

The Minister added that the citizen’s convenience will be given priority, while various cultural heritage themes will be included.

Nadiad MLA Pankaj Desai and other officials were also present at the meeting.
