Extended monsoon in Gujarat: Rainy season likely to continue beyond Oct 3

The monsoon in Gujarat departs usually around September 20-25. However, this time around, the rainy season is likely to extend for the western state, as experts believe that the monsoon in Gujarat is likely to end after October 3.
Notably, the monsoon also started earlier this year in the state from June 7.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of heavy rain in the state for the next five days, only scattered light to moderate showers. Light to moderate gusts are likely till September 30.
Gujarat has so far received 124.61% of the season’s rainfall. More than 40 inches of rain has been recorded in 123 talukas, 20 to 40 inches in 109 talukas, 10 to 20 inches in 19 talukas. None of the talukas in has received less than 10 inches of rain.
Dang, Valsad, Navsari, Bharuch, Narmada, Tapi, Surat, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Vadodara, Anand, Kheda, Chota Udepur, Panchmahal have received more than 40 inches of rain this time.
